Board of License Commission · Meeting of June 22, 2026

Framingham license commissioners approved a one-hour extension for alcohol licensees through July 31, by application only. The Board of License Commissioners voted 5-0 on a roll call after rejecting a citywide approach. Licensees send an email to license coordinator Michael Royce, with no fee, and requests are approved like one-day licenses.

Extensions cannot go past 2 a.m. and also extend common victualler licenses by an hour. Police and fire opposed the idea. Sam Henler of Jack's Abbey Brewing said the question is "where people are drinking." The board also moved its July meetings to July 6 and 20, and asked Fresh Market, which pays $71,512.39 a month on an empty Worcester Road lease, for an update Sept. 28.
