Framingham Selectmen Appoint Seven-Member Bylaw Review Committee for City Transition

FRAMINGHAM — May 2, 2017 — Framingham selectmen appoint seven-member Bylaw Review Committee to reconcile town bylaws with new city charter. The Board of Selectmen voted unanimously Tuesday to seat George King and Adam Blummer as the two required former Charter Commission representatives, then named Bob Berman, Michael Gatlin, Andy Lemary, Nicole Singleton, and Joel Winnette from a field of more than 15 public applicants through a multi-round ranked voting process. In a separate update, Fire Chief Michael Hicks reported that ambulance contractor AMR agreed at no additional cost to upgrade Ambulance 3 to 24-7 coverage, add a fourth ambulance at the Nobscot Fire Station five days a week, and deploy parent-company subsidiary Community Ambulance as automatic mutual aid backup — reversing the regional resource losses Hicks had flagged to the board months earlier. The board also approved a 16-seat seasonal outdoor patio for El Mariachi Mexican Restaurant at 358 Waverly Street on a 5-0 vote, with a 10 p.m. closing requirement written into the license.
