FRAMINGHAM — The Community Preservation Committee voted unanimously to waive eligibility and accept the Chris Walsh Memorial Trail's out-of-cycle funding request. Allison Elliott of the Parks Division and a colleague identified as Megan said the project needs a local match of about $388,000 to meet a Sept. 30 federal obligation deadline. The match is 20 percent of roughly $409,000, less about $21,000 left from an earlier CPC grant.
Members asked for proof of CSX support for a bridge over the rail spur, and member Robert Merusi said the committee should be "pretty sure that CSX is on board" before large sums are spent. The committee also finalized its application policy.
