Community Preservation Committee · Meeting of October 19, 2026

FRAMINGHAM — The Framingham Community Preservation Committee voted unanimously to hold $1 million in reserve for fiscal 2027, leaving $1,436,744 available for new applications. Vice Chair Karen Margolis presided in Chair Thomas Mahoney's absence. Members also voted 7-0 five separate times to return roughly $87,706.83 in unspent funds from closed projects, including $77,500 freed from the Carroll Ketchel North trail project.

A member said he was "a little caught off guard" by the surplus, while A member argued the committee was "more of the mind to hold back $800,000" rather than a full million. A member said "the big issue at the senior center is there's no outdoor recreation at all for them," as members deferred, without a vote, a councilor's request to reconsider a senior center project's CPA eligibility. The applicant deadline is October 29.
